The company's primary drug candidate is itolizumab (EQ001), a monoclonal antibody in clinical development that targets the novel CD6 immune checkpoint receptor. Itolizumab is currently in Phase III trials for acute graft-versus-host disease, has completed Phase Ib studies for asthma, and is also undergoing Phase Ib trials for lupus nephritis. In addition to itolizumab, Equillium is advancing EQ101 for the treatment of cutaneous T cell lymphoma and alopecia areata, and EQ102, which targets various gastrointestinal conditions. Headquartered in La Jolla, California, the company was incorporated in 2017 and previously operated as Attenuate Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. before changing its name to Equillium, Inc. in May 2017.
