Earnings Report

Q4 FY2026 revenue beat, EPS miss on margin pressure

WD-40 reported Q4 FY2026 net sales of $176.8M (up 8%, beating ~$172.3M consensus) but diluted EPS of $1.06 versus ~$1.14 expected, a ~7% miss driven by higher specialty chemical and input costs that cut gross margin to 52.8% from 54.7%. The profit shortfall overshadowed the sales beat and pressured shares, with the stock closing down 4.39% at $192.56 and slipping further after hours; margin trajectory is the key near-term swing factor for the stock.

Management guided FY2027 net sales of $715M-$735M (4-7% growth), gross margin of 54.0%-55.5%, operating income of $114M-$120M, and diluted EPS of $6.40-$6.70 (5-10% growth). Management stated Q4 FY2026 likely marked the gross margin low point with sequential improvement expected from Q1 FY2027, a claim that could support the stock if confirmed but leaves execution risk after the Q4 miss.
